I am wondering if you are the An Sete that I knew while we both worked at Fireman's Fund Insurance Company in San Rafael, California until I was laid off in March, 1981 and subsequently moved to Mount Shasta where I still live today. It seems nearly impossible to me that there could be two Caucasian An (or Anne) Sete's who married two Black Bola Sete's and both couples living in Marin County, California during the same time period. If you are the An (or Anne) Sete whom I knew and whose company I greatly appreciated in the late '70's through early 1981, I will be most happy to receive an email reply to this blog reply. Hi An: More old Fundies here. Perhaps you recall we tall folk, Maureen and I, from those heady 1980's days, when your ambition was to be a Buddhist saint. We went with you to Bola's return concerts at the Inn Of The Beginning, and his subsequent show at the Great American Music Hall with John Handy and Alla Rakha. I left FFI in 1985; Maureen stayed on till 2001. Much has happened since then, but we still fondly recall those times. Just today, as we drove from Sacramento to our home below Lake Tahoe, we played GOIN' TO RIO and remembered you saying how much fun Bola had making that record.
Hello out there! Of course I remember you! I am living in Lake County now. I set up a record company and released 6 of Bola's solo guitar CDs (on CD Baby). Have plans to release his last 3 college concerts. I am an artist now (Fine Art America Anne Sete), where I sell prints. I am still doing meditation, yoga, etc., though I have given up on being a saint. So much is going on in the world right now that I just hold on for the rocket ride! [email protected]
